Christ Church is located in the heart of Naples and is the only Anglican Church in Southern Italy.
It was built in 1863 on land which had been given to the British Community by General Garibaldi and to
this day it remains a haven of tranquillity amongst the bustle of Naples city life.
The Reverend Kingsley Joyce is the incumbent at Christ Church and is also the officiating chaplain to the
British Community at JFC Naples whilst maintaining close links with the wider NATO community. Reverend Joyce
also presides in Bari and Sorrento.
Christ Church primarily serves the Anglican and Episcopalian communities in Naples as well as providing a
warm welcome to anyone who would like to worship there. Reverend Joyce is also available to be contacted
in total confidence for anything you may want to discuss.
The main service each week is Holy Communion and it takes place at 1000 every Sunday where all denominations
are welcome. There is also a Sunday School during the service for children. Refreshments afterwards give an
opportunity to have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee.
Reverend Joyce also visits the British Forces School every Thursday morning for Assembly and can always be
found in the HIVE afterwards.
The Christ Church and UK JSU Websites carry the most up to date details about Services in addition to a
calendar of future events. A ‘thought for week’ is also published.
All Festivals, High Days and Observances are recognised and practised at Christ Church. Requests for Baptisms,
Weddings as well as preparation for Confirmation are always welcome and will be accommodated wherever possible.
The Church is also provides a venue for recitals throughout year which underline and support the Christian Calendar.
Be a part of the Church so it can be a part of you.
Park at JFC Naples and take the train to Piazza Amedeo. A short walk along Via dei Mille will lead you to Via San Pasquale.
Exit the Tangenziale at Fuorigrotta (Junction 10) and keep left through the tolls and underpass until you reach a T-junction.
Turn left and keep going through the tunnel at Mergellina before bearing right towards Via Caracciolo on the waterfront.
Follow the road to Piazza della Repubblica turning left and then right onto the bus lane as the waterfront is closed to traffic
on most Sundays and this is the only way you can go. Keep the park on your right until you reach the Aquarium and turn left at
the lights on to Piazza San Pasquale and follow the road round the one way system to the top of the hill and turn left at the top.
Then take the second left, first left and first right hand turns. You are now on Via San Pasquale and Christ Church will be on your
right hand side. There are some parking spaces in the grounds as well as outside on the street.
