First Contact

Experience has shown that it is vitally important that you are organised well in advance for your tour of duty here. Naples is a unique place to live; it can be both fun and frustrating in equal measure and the more you do to prepare for life here the better.

Communication

Communication is the key and we recommend an early engagement both with your current support staff and with the United Kingdom Joint Support Unit to ensure a smooth transition into Neapolitan life. Included in the New Arrivals pack is the ‘Welcome to Italy and Naples’ booklet. In addition to providing advice on housing, uniform, pay and allowances etc, it offers some useful background information and tips about Italian life in general and life in Naples in particular.

Sponsorship

The next stage is your 'Sponsor' nomination who will, for all intents and purposes, be your principal point of contact for any questions/issues or queries you may have from now and until you join.

Personnel Data Arrival Form (PDAF)

To facilitate this nomination, it is essential that the Nominal Roll Entry Form (also in the newcomers pack) and Travel Itinerary are completed and returned to the Support Unit as soon as possible. To speed up this process this can be downloaded and once completed, send to following address:
