Should you require to be referred from the BFC (SE) to a consultant specialist this will normally be arranged at the United States Naval Hospital (USNH) Naples located at the US Navy Support Site Gricignano. Your referral and appointment will be managed by the Secondary Care Coordinator within the BFC (SE) on your behalf.

Occasionally a specialist appointment that cannot be supplied by USNH Naples will be provided by a local approved Italian consultant. In this case your appointment will be managed using the USNH Tri-Care appointment system. The Tri-Care staff located at the USNH will provide lingual and transport support.

At times it may be necessary for you to attend a hospital appointment in the UK. When this is the case your flight must be authorised by the RAF AEROMED Control Centre. This authorisation will be applied for by the BFC (SE) on your behalf.
